Nomination for the 2024 SJA Mine Sasaguri Service Award is now open!

SJA is pleased to announce that nominations for the 2024 SJA Founder Mine Sasaguri Service Award are now being accepted!


The SJA Founder Mine Sasaguri Service Award is an award granted annually to one SJA volunteer who has made significant contributions to the organization and to the promotion of the study of Japanese in the DMV area. Any non-board member volunteer is eligible if they have spent 12 or more hours on a project with SJA since July of the previous year.

To submit a nomination, please click here. To nominate someone, you will need to provide your name and contact information, their name and contact information, and a short paragraph (100-200 words) describing their recent contributions to SJA and SJA’s mission.

Nominations close on Sunday June 9, 2024. If you know anyone who you feel has gone above and beyond at SJA this year, please don’t hesitate to nominate them for the award!
